Default Please rate my blog and tear me a new one.

Ok, let me say this: I'm looking for a brutally honest opinion from professional and successful bloggers here. What am I doing wrong, and what am I doing right? Please don't worry about offending me, as constructive criticism from knowledgeable folks will greatly help me at this stage in my noob development. Thanks!

I'm not a pro and successful blogger.. but what I would do differently is not to put the same banner below each post. Also because it could generate a lot of traffic if your blogs are visited frequently. I would replace it with a text link in bold.

You should upload your images and banners to imageturtle.com and thumblogger, because Videosz doesn't allow hotlinking of their images/banners.

Your meta description is important for the search engines and should be longer.

Maybe not really important, but I always get rid of the thumblogger.com in the title and delete the space in the meta tags, like this:
Quote:
<meta name="description" content="Best of pornstar Jenna Haze Movies" >
<meta name="keywords" content="jenna haze,jenna haze movies, jenna videos" >
<meta name="author" content="" >
<meta name="robots" content="index, follow" >
You can do this in ->LOOKS ->HTML Templates

I am going to agree with Moe and add an extra "IMPORTANT" to the spaces in the meta keywords. keyword,keyword (or key phrase) with NO spaces after the comma.

I would put two text links directly under the post images. one saying preview and set to play the clip and the other saying download leading to the paysite. I would epxect that download link to get far more clicks than the banner ads in the post. Plus as Moe pointed out they do look a bit repetitive.
A little bit more text in each post would also be beneficial.
also changing the post titles so they all read Eva Angelina Movie - (insert movie title here) should help with ur seo.
search your template code for the title tag and change it from 'insert your title here'. I know that isnt seen on the blog but the spiders will be all over it.
not sure if i like the sidebar i cant make my mind up. but you need to include some links to your other blogs in there and fill that sucker up some more. In future when choosing a two column template always choose one with the sidebar on the right
you must have an rss feed on there if you seriously want to make money, and you will make more if you have run that feed thru feedburner first.

ok enuff from me lol

Jack, do you mean the title tag in the following code?
Should that part (it's after the archive code) even be there?

Thanks for the suggestions. The keywords are just typos, since I've been trying to eliminate the spaces since reading these forums.

With the images, it's frustrating because while videosz gives me a "free content" feature that gives links for hosted pics that can be hotlinked (they give you the links for hotlinking and several screenshots to choose from), they don't provide links to FHGs in that same tool (instead they give links to pages without freebies), while their hosted galleries tool that gives freebies only provides you the link to the default pic, which often isn't the best choice among their gallery screenshots.

And, because of 2257 issues, I only want to use pics that are hosted by videosz, not hosted by myself or any host I use, because I think it gets into murky territory there. Instead, I need all visual content on my blog to be hosted by my affiliate. I'll use embeds or rss feed or pasting links for pics into thumblogger that are hosted at my affiliates server. It just makes me feel safer that way. And it's why I use videosZ. They provide you with pics and vids to use that they host themselves.

I do have rss feeds, but lately they've been taking several days to show up visible on my blogs, and I just created these. Feedburner? thanks, I'll look into that tonight.

I'm curious why it matters that the sidebar is on the right v. left?

Also, if every blog title said "Eva Angelina Movie," isn't that more a benefit to yahoo search and not google, since I've read that the count of a keyword phrase on a page doesn't matter that much anymore, or that having too many could seem like spam to the spiders (think I read that somewhere in this forum).

What would it take for me to get in the top ten for the search "Eva Angelina"? Or, is that impossible, making it wiser to go for the less searched keywords like "Eva Angelina Movie"

Thanks for the wisdom,

You just discovered one of the drawbacks to using a free blog host instead of your own host.

Many sponsors offer free hosting but mainly its just for galleries and straight html - you can't host a blog there. Makes it a little safer because the content is on their host, so possibly less 2257 risk.

In my experience, it's been like a raffle when it comes to which search terms I get a high ranking on. You may be shooting for "Eva Angelina Movie" but all your traffic comes from searches for something else like "Eva Angelina porno". But HJ is onto something with the title tag, so every page on your blog has the same term in the title tag. The next step is to build incoming links that use the same term in the anchor text.

Then just keep blogging about Eva Angelina this and Eva Angelina that. Over time you could end up breaking the top 10 barrier for "Eva Angelina". It could take around a year to get consistently high search ranking.

Oh yeah, about your blog:

The other suggestions in this thread are all good tips. I would just suggest cleaning up your DVD ads in the sidebar. All of the text is crunched up on one side of the sidebar, making it a pain to read. Instead of putting the DVD ads in a table, try placing them in a <p> tag and align the box covers left so you get a text wrap.

HTML Code:
<p><img src="#" style="float:left;" />text here</p>

you lost me a little there, but I wonder if you're using firefox. I don't have firefox on my comp but I noticed that the sides did that on a friend's comp that used firefox. It doesn't run over in IE for me. I wonder why.
