How to Build a Profitable Thumblog!!!

I promised a checklist on creating a Thumblog. And here it is.
All Comment Welcome!!! and appreciated!!!

Thumblog setup: This list assumes you have picked and registered a subdomain. If not do it.

1. Open Word. I like Word because it gives me the character count. (Tools/Word Count... and underscores in red my misspellings) Decide on a Title and a Description and chose 10 Keywords and write these out. (Title should be no more than 4 words and should NEVER be changed, ever. Description should be no more than 254 characters, including spaces, I go over 254 and I start cutting text. Keywords should be separated by a comma.)
2. Login to Thumblogger, go to the edit for your new Thumblog.
3. Enable RSS and three check boxes. (Options/Options)
4. Title and description for RSS (Use the title and description you wrote for the Thumblog)
5. Reset "Number of Log entries" from 35 to 8 in all three fields.
6. Check the box: Disable comments on your blog
7. Switch the editor to "The old editor, blogger look (Activate HTML tab on load )" (Makes it easier for me to edit)
8. Go to Options/Move Boxes and move the Info, Links, and Bookmark boxes to the center.
9. Go to Looks/HTML wizards and click HTML begin.
10. Enter Title, Description, Keywords, click Change.
11. Go to Looks/ Page header and click HTML begin.
12. Under "3. Image header disabled" enter Title for Header text and Description for Quote text.

Addition:
13. Go to Blog/Categories/Manage categories and click edit beside General. Under Name type a descriptive name, Mature Tits, Teen Sex, something based on your keyword/focus of the blog. For short name use the same words except, no spaces and lower case, maturetits, teensex. Do this BEFORE you add posts. DO not change the catagory after the Thumblog is build.

14. Now go to Blog/Log items and enter some posts. I would use FHG’s and post at least 100. 30 in the past as archive, 1 for today and 69 to post daily.

At this stage of the game you actually do have a working blog that could make money, but nobody knows it exists. Now comes the marketing.

1. Go to Feedburner.com and register the blog. Make sure you like the title of the feed. I use Publicize: PingShot, FeedCount, and Chicklet Chooser.
2. Go to addthis.com and get the bookmark widget.
3. Go to Options/Boxes/ Manage boxes and click edit for the first empty or unused box.
4. Name the box Subscribe to me...
5. Paste your FeedCount and Chicklet Chooser code into the box, and your Bookmark widget from AddThis.com. Click Change.
6. Go to Options/Move Boxes and move the box Subscribe to me to the right column.
7. Go to Options/Boxes/ Manage boxes and click edit for the first empty or unused box.
8. Name the box More Good Porn!!!
9. Add links to all your sites in this box. Click Change.
10. Go to Options/Move Boxes and move the box More Good Porn to the right column.

You now have a blog that is SEO (Search Engine Optimized) with content that will notify the world of its existence through the Feedburner.com ping, and is crosslinked to your other blogs and sites. This is the very basic. Now I would suggest you:

1. Add banner ads to the side columns. DO NOT forget to add a sentence of text below each ad. TEXT sells much better than 'picture ads' in the columns, but you need to banner/picture ad to catch their eye.
2. Go to Free Adult Webmaster Stuff and add your URL to the "Adult Directories/Search Engines", the "RSS Feed submission" and the "Search Engines" that do not require a reciprocal link. There are 29 at this writing. FREE Links, beat that...

Now you are own your own. You have a complete fully functional working blog and did it in 2 hours, if you had coffee and a cig.
The one thing I like to add is a trading script. Right now I am using Link Organizer. It does not dovetail with Thumblogger, so there is a little work, but I think it is worth it, especially since it has a built in Top Refers list feature. I do not add a graphic header since I want the text at the top to be visible for the spiders.

One other good addition is RSS feed from 1 or 2 (at the most) blogs that you own on the exact same niche. Thumblogger has an RSS box you can use and there are several services that offer RSS to Javascript conversion for your inclusion.

Now, as long as I am writing... Lets talk about number of sponsors... I try Very, Very hard to use the FHG’s or RSS feed from just one paysite per Thumblog. If I just have to because there are too few posts I might use 2, but it is as a last resort. This begs the question, "What if they don’t like that one site?" That is why you cross link your sites. Good example is tits (Love Tits!!! Thought you would want to know.) There are teen tits, black tits, mature tits, tit fucking, petite tits. Ideally you would have a site for each. I like mature tits. If I am browsing a tit site and it is suppose to be mature and I see a teen tit, I bail. As said time after time pick a niche and build all the Thumblogs you can for that niche. I guarantee you will be so, so, so far ahead of the crowd. When I started I wanted one blog in every niche. I built one blog in every niche and lucked upon a sale once in a great while. I suddenly developed the ability to listen to my elders. Now this is what I do. I actually make more than one sale a month. I made the mistake of trying be all things to all porn surfers and it cost me years, yes, years of struggling to get it right. You want to prove you are smarter than I was, start off by doing it right, from the beginning. Pick a niche.

1. Why is it that you change number of log entries to a low number?
2. Why disable comments?
3. FHG's = fully hosted galleries?
4. I have been creating header images instead of changing the site title and sub text. Am I just wasting my time doing this? here is a rather large example:

A Thumblog I am working on right now that you can look at is http://hogtiedmovies.thumblogger.com/ you can see the "Subscribe to me..." box I talk about. Right now I am setting up Link Organizer for trades on that Thumblog. I have not added any sponsors past the sponsor for the main part of the page. (paysite sponsor) I will probably add a Bondage Dating sponsor and a Webcam sponsor. All the money I have ever made came from Paysite memberships, dating signups and webcams... I have pretty much dropped all the rest. In the beginning I wanted a sponsor for anything and everything that you could sell on a porn site. I have slowly came to realize that selling the things you are good at selling and dropping the things that take up space and bring in no income is much, much smarter.

As far as what to sell other than paysite memberships... I STRONGLY and HIGHLY advise anybody starting out to pick two things other than paysite memberships to sell. Do not try to have every conceivable porn product niche on your website. Pick two, for me it is dating and webcams. I will probably die selling paysite memberships, dating and webcams. I truly regret all the years I spent chasing my tail trying to sell every product possible... BUT I am much better now...

I considered it and have meant to subscribe to add the Subscribe by Email option at Feedburner for one of my Thumbologs and subscribe to the Thumblog to see what the email looks like. I would like to use that but need to make sure it does not pass the sponsors url.

I see you found one at Blogarithm.com. I subscribed to it on your blog. I await the first email to have a look see at it.

1. Faster page load. I am old school and I want that page loaded NOW. I have been to many Thumblogs where they left 35. Normally for me the page is still loading when I am trying to look at it and this bugs me and I can not help but wonder if it is distracting for a porn surfer too? People who are not comfortable do not pull out credit cards. And if 8 galleries of content do not do it for the surfer I do not think one more will matter.
2. Experience. In my experience, comments cost much more than they are worth. I have very little time as is and moderating comments is time consuming. BUT, some may find them of value and be able to turn them to their advantage. My hat is off to those webmasters, but, since I wrote this for the beginner with limited time,(part timer, with day job) comments are not something that it would pay them to worry with.

4. Man, that is a can of worms... I never use image headers. But, that does not mean you should not if you want to. I go for SEO to the max. I did not include consideration for a header image here because it is written for the newbie, part timer with a day job and limited time. Cutting and pasting a Title and a Description is a lot faster than creating an image or trying to figure out ftp and possible webspace if they do not have hosting.

Keep in mind this a bare bones Thumblog. No Frills, not even little bags of peanuts as snacks...
