Default Asian fonts in titles?

Hello when I use asian characters in a subject line for example, it gets messed up. for example

If I make a subject of a new post have some asian characters, after I post it, the subject turns into something like &# 28201;&# 27849;
and on the blog page its displayed as &# 28201;&# 27849; too

I think you just need a meta like:
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />

And change utf-8 to the char set that you are using (gb2312, big5, utf-8, etc)

I think this fixed SOME of the problem. FOr example I can change the Boxes titles to have asian characters in the font, but if I try to change a categories name into asian fonts it turns out like this still: &amp; #28201;&amp;#27849;&amp;#12288;

Could you post your blog url? It could be a few things like language packs, browser, etc. and a lot of webmasters prefer images but I dont think you can do that with categories.

Also, have you looked into putting a translator in your blog? That might work better.

my blog is here http://vc.thumblogger.com/
you can see i tested asian characters in the POST TITLES (doesn't work) and in the POSTS itself (works) and on the box titles (Seems to work) i even changed the charset to EUC-JP: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=EUC-JP">

Well, I'm not sure how to fix it, but Im pretty sure the problem is because the Asian characters that are showing correctly show up as something like &#12450 in the source and the ones that don't show up as &amp;#28201. If you can change the HTML to post the title as &#numbers then it should fix it.

Ill let you know if I think of something to fix it.

thanks for your help and input so far.
i think the problem might start with the thumblogger editor, I noticed the asian characters also don't show up correctly in the thumblogger editor, specifically under "manage log entries"
Something like this:
Subject Visible Post date
 &# 12288;Asian Yes 14-03-2010 18:39:37 Yes 11-03-2010 17:39:37
