Just finished a handwritten post for AV Idols. It took almost an hour to reaearch it and do it. Just too damn much time. Yes i get sales off of it but I get sales off of rss posts too.

Just finished handwriting almost 200 hardcore and hairy posts myself. I agree it is not fun! But today has been a busted ass, anyway!

I couldn't do it for more than 5 blogs at once. It's so time-consuming, even if it's just editing a sponsor's own description. If you're trying build a rss with 50 posts, that takes forever.

when i started out blogging I built a blog and added a new post every day. Then Id build another blog and add a post to that every day. Once I had half a dozen blogs I soon began to realise that having to write six posts every day before I could get to the stuff I really wanted to work on was a real bind, and that when I got to ten or twelve blogs it would severely limit my time to spend on new stuff. So I got in the habit of building a blog and then writing enough posts for it to keep it going at three posts a week for four months or so. That way I could forget all about it for those months and be more productive with other stuff.
Working that way also lets me use those times when I am particularly 'wordy' and creative lol to write loads of posts, and the times when I feel more practical to work on scripts or installations or whatever suits.

Of course once you get to the end of the four months you have to have a flurry of post writing again lol.

For me, handwritten sells far better than RSS feeds.
Sure, I have tons (and I mean tons) of RSS-fed splogs, and they get the odd sale of two, but they are really designed to send traffic and backlinks to my handwritten blogs and sales pages which have been designed to sell.

Takes loads of time. I'm in the middle of writing a 250 plus posts handwritten blog at the moment, and it's a killer (which is why I am in here, taking a break). But once it's done it will be up there ticking over for years. And as each individual post is designed to sell some damn good content, I have every confidence it will work.

Plus, I get to put 'target="_blank" and rel="nofollow" in each post if I want to. You can't do that with many sponsor RSS feeds.

And as for creating your own feeds, sure, you can put those tags in your links, but you can't provide individual deep links for some of your other blogs in that niche, or links to your own sales pages on an individual basis, or different alt and title tags for each of your pictures, if you want to do those things, unless you write those posts individually anyway.

So sure, there is a very real place for RSS fed blogs, but for me personally, if I get a sale on any of them I see it as a bonus.

I think I've been doing something very similar to you Tiani. I only have time for one unique hand-written blog, but I'm hoping to use a network of splogs to feed it traffic. My splogs are starting to get time consuming though, because I can import a rss feed through feedwp with the goal of setting it to autopost for about 8 months with about 45 posts. It takes time though to copy and paste my sponsor's description into their rss feed, which has no real text at all.

Maybe I'm wasting time though, since a copy and paste description from the sponsors tour page is about the worst I can do as far as duplicate content. It's gotta be better than no description at all, I'm guessing.

If I could just find a sponsor with text rich rss feeds that only include softcore pics, then it would be easier.

I may be wrong, but can't you pull the feed in with feedwordpress, tell it to mark them all pending and just go through them and change the date?

Yes, that's what I do, but because my VideosZ sponsor doesn't include much text in their rss feed, I have to manually edit each pending post by copying and pasting text from their preview pages.

If I didn't do that, it would be easy enough to just change the date, although it might be wiser to manually edit the tags and categories of each post, which also takes some time, when you're dealing with 85 pending posts.

Sorry if I wasn't clear there.

I totally agree with Tiani and Spaceporn.
RSS fed blogs are great for spreading a wide net and catching a wide range of traffic. But hand-written blogs convert better so once you have that traffic its best to try and send it down into your better stuff.
My recipe is a big net of splogs feeding traffic to a hub which in turn passes it down through a well designed traffic filter made of hand written blogs.
