Default I officially give up on google

After working on learning all I can about SEO for the last year, dutifully applying it to the best of my abilities and getting marginal, at best, results, I quit!
Tonight, I was messing with some so-called keyword research and I googled a certain keyphrase for which I would like to rank well for. Out of 1.6 million results, one of my blogs popped up on the first page with the following results (edited to protect what little dignity I have left):

My blog title
Greetings XXXXXXXXXXXX porn lovers! Due to some douchebag that hacked into the servers at thumblogger, this blog is currently down. ...
XXXXXXXXXXXX.thumblogger.com/ - 17k - Cached - Similar pages

After many beers and much reflection on this topic, the only logical conclusion I can come to is that google is more fucked up than garcia's first wife.

Yes, that one is still mine. Still pulls lots of se traffic, but the blog is so crappy that no one stays! It's on the list for an overhaul!
My list is getting so big I need a new notebook for it!
Ya know, the thing that kills me about that one is that toptransexuals.com is nowhere to be found lately, but the thumblogger one is on the first page!

Google has never really cared much for that one. Always done better at yahoo with toptransexuals.com. Like I said, I give up!

I waved the white flag at google years ago. There is no way to stay sane and try to make sense out of their perverted ranking systems. You have a better chance of NOT catching something at a Thai whorehouse than you do understanding google.

Yeah, I give up too. The more that I learn, the more the results just don't deliver. What's absolutely maddening is that I can do all the research on a phrase that gets 8000k searches a month. Then, I can get a page 1 listing and receive... oh maybe 30 hits a month for doing everything right.

Fuck it. It's a waste of time. I'd rather concentrate on the sources that deliver hits and sales rather than a vague hope of someday being flooded by google.

In fact, my hits from google have become an amusing distraction.

3 hits from "Audrey Burnes Bukkake"

Wow. I've never even written a post that remotely relates to that key phrase! lmao

Meanwhile, I'm on page 85 of something directly related to my blog, while the sites ahead of me are completely irrelevant, both content and keyword-wise.

I'm starting to think that all the seo 'inside-knowledge' is really a PR campaign by google to make their highly flawed index system seem infallible or something.

I find that a lot.
What I have also found, however, is that if I do make a post with the strange key phrase I find, I suddenly get loads of traffic for it. So it's worth it in a way...unless "Audrey Burnes Bukkake" in absolutely no way relates to anything you do

Hmmm. I'm consistently on SERPs 1-10 of my targeted keywords and phrases. Maybe I should write a book. If only I knew how I was doing it....

lol. Think about this second:

How Google really works: A couple of guys decide what the authoritative sites are on the web, and then anything those site do instantly hits page 1. Sure, there are ways for a brand new blog post from a less trafficked site to compete by being highly relevant to the search phrase, at least for a few days before dropping.

So, we do what we do, moving from one secret to another, from one intense google researched campaign to another, and maybe after a few years, some guy at google will look at our 2 year old site and decide it's relevant.

Boom! Suddenly, Google is paying off! What do we do? We convince ourselves that we know THE secret because it happened right after we tried yet another inside tip. We become convinced that all of our pain-staking efforts amounted to our google results.

When, really, everything we did from backlink campaigns, page rank, etc. didn't really do much at all until somebody at google took two seconds to look at our site.

Yes, I'm cynical.
