Greetings all,

Well, I managed to get blacklisted again. :fanning:

But in the process of getting help on another issue in our sister forum one of the members there turned me on to a very cool URL that I bookmarked and would suggest all forum members bookmark.

http://www.thumblogger.com/ban/removeip.php

It is fantastic and works very quickly. That is why I am here now.

:thanks: Twan... That little form is appreciated.

Randy :)

Hi Randy,

Thanks for the friendly words ;)
This one also works nicely:

Thanks Twan,

I do like your URL much better.

I did request my IP be added to the white list on the form that makes that request. Now that I have had some sleep I realize that I did not read the form correctly. (sad part is I do not even have the excuse of alcohol for that blunder) That was stupid of me. :bang: The form clearly states the form is to request servers :bang: IP address only since they are static and mine, while not changed each time I log in, is not static.

When you get to my request to be placed on the white list delete it. :o Sorry...

Randy :)

well i've had this problem for months now! I can access thumblogger from my second pc on my home network, but not my first one! I've pm'd admin here a few times but had no reply.
I can't even access this site from my first pc. I had read about ip bans, and when i found this thread today, i was ecstatic...but to no avail..all i got was a result saying that i wasn't even on the banned list!!!

Please somebody tell me how i can sort this problem out..it's driving me mad.

These are the two blogs i started months ago and assumed they'd been deleted...till a few days ago when i tried on my second pc.

Both pc's are xp pro, and i have a netgear DG834G v3 router. They are both set up the same way.

I'd be grateful for any advice

daddysgirl8524 Welcome to AWG!!! :D :jitters:

If you would be so kind as to screenshot the problem and post it we could probably give you a much better idea of which way to go...

You wrote, "I can't even access this site from my first pc."
Are there any error messages? :hm: Does any text (please do a cut and paste) appear on the screen? :hm: What is the specific (please do a cut and paste) URL? :hm: Is the problem the same in IE and FireFox? :hm:

Has this problem always existed? :hm:

The more information screenshots and cutting and pasting of error text the better.

Welcome!!! :jitters:

Pardon my newbie ignorance, but what is "blacklisted"? And how does one achieve such (I assume) undesirable status?

Blacklisted is when your IP address is blocked permanently.

I was actually banned. I have a new piece of software that I use to post to my Thumblogs. The first thing this software does is pull down a list of my Thumblog titles and urls and the catagories for each of the Thumblogs. Now you got to remember I been here since '05 and one of my Thumblogs was in the first 200 registered. So when I activated the software it made repeated requests for information from the server is a VERY, VERY short period of time and the server blocks you if you make a HUGE number of requests in too short a period of time. :D So the server thinking I might be a DOS attack blocked my IP address so when FireFox sent a request for data to the server the server refused the connection.

Now a bit of technicality... Blacklisted is where you are permanently banned. Banned is what I actually was. I technically, was never Blacklisted in the strictest sense of the word.

Hope this Helps...
Randy :)

Try opening up a command prompt window in winXP and typing in:

ipconfig /flushdns

on the offending machine. See if that helps.

If not, then check your browser settings. Set them to 'default' if you've messed with them. Check any virus/firewall/router settings on your computer to see if it it blocking the site.

Or turn your computer upside down. It might have been made in Australia.

it's possible that the router is blocking your first pc from accessing the site. Your best bet is to ask your question in a networking tech forum and give them as much info as you can about your problem. You will get some help from the network pro's that way. Do a search on google for your router and you will soon find a good forum for networking. :)
