I always keep a nice weekly pedicure with movie star red toenail polish. $10 at the local beauty college.

My fingernails are short and unpolished since I work too much.

So one day a few years ago I was in a Walgreen's on a business trip (in Missouri, Lillian)
Half asleep. Hair in ponytail. Old jeans. Flannel shirt. No makeup. No jewelry. But nice feet. Sandals.

I was looking for a different nail polish. Real perfect movie star red is hard to find. I was intently reading labels and this bubba insurance salesman/local banker type guy walked past.

I figured he was the store manager who thought I was a shoplifter since I looked pretty rough. (Mornings are not good for me)

So he strolls by again. And again. I'm talking starched khakis and a Ralph Lauren shirt. A real Rolex (I used to be a jeweler) and dang cute. Maybe mid 20's.

I am half asleep and oblivious. He says "You have pretty feet"

I say " they are really big"

He says "more to love"

I am so tired I get outside before it hits me. Duhhhh.

A very good mix of poor folks, old people, and attorneys and judges.

So old that breakfast pancakes orders and such actually include coffee at no extra charge. Real butter. Real cream.

Equality is a wonderful thing when you keep it in perspective. A man shakes hands like a man. Never was that big on shaking a ladies hand, unless it was a lady. A lady understands perspective and does not expect a "hand shake", but understands the ritual of exchanging personal contact.
